Hannah Weiss-Martin (135 BFC - ) is a consciousness substrate engineer who popularised the computonium smart matter theory of the First Contact Event. She is also known for pioneering observer-integrated experiments which use conscious entanglement to probe mind-matter coupling, as well as co-founding biocoherence Neurogenesis company Nexus.

She completed her thesis on quantum cognition at Caltech at age 27, and has since worked there in some capacity for her entire life. Her viral interference experiments in 108 BFC demonstrated sustained quantum coherence in biological nano-structures. She worked on neural coherence problems for many years, and founded Nexus in 77 BFC to try and find practical applications. After the failure and acquisition of Nexus she began work on interpreting new observer integrated experiments showing that human choices in quantum measurements display minute statistical biases that preserve temporal consistency between past and future events. Her best-known proposal from this period, the “only possible decision” theory, departed from superdeterministic and retrocausal models by suggesting that these biases force measurement choices toward outcomes that maintain consistency across quantum states. Several popular-science treatments have extended this into a broader claim that all actions must preserve causal coherence across a globally consistent timeline, Hannah has criticized this as being unfalsifiable. Her later work has again focussed on ways to use coherence to integrate computonium smart matter into the brain, and due to a renewed interest in Neurogenesis from the Forever Fever she has recently featured in a number of interviews about it. Her self replicating smart matter theory of the First Contact Event lifeform is considered one of the leading explanations for purpose of that probe.

At 153 years old she is currently the worlds oldest working academic researcher. Hannah is the daughter of scientists Levi Weiss and Talia Martin. She has two children with her Nexus co-founder Javier Florentin, Isla and Alejandro, and has been married to folk musician Zoe Sage since 59 BFC.
